Ponte City (2014) follows a more than six-year journey, in which Mikhael Subotzky and Patrick Waterhouse photographed and documented the residents and spaces of Johannesburg's iconic apartment building, Ponte City. This body of images is presented in counterpoint with items from the found archive and historical documents, including plans and photographs. The visual narrative is integrated with a sustained sequence of essays, stories, and documentary texts presented in 17 booklets.
