Xiang Liqing graduated from the Department of Oil Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, in 1995. His work combines painting, photography, installation, and sculpture. Xiang began a series of digital collages of architectural facades in the early 2000s, featuring a kaleidoscope of colors and quasi-abstract forms that speak to the social realities of individuals living within the midst of China’s sprawling metropolises.
