Wang Qingsong graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1993. He is known for staged photographs that often reference celebrated Chinese and Western paintings. In doing so, many of his works offer biting social commentary on the consequences of China’s current economic boom.
