Since 2005, media artist Cheng Ran has been producing films, videos, and installations that draw widely from both Western and Chinese literature, poetry, cinema, and visual culture. Cheng is specifically interested in how aspects of European and North American pop culture are manifested in China. His works generate new narratives that combine myths and historical events.
